Stopped into J&Vs on a whim with friends on a hiking trip. Was not disappointed by this local gem. Great food, great ambience, and loved eating in the open air train car! Stopped in for round two on the way back from our trip.
Friendly service, best milkshakes ever with at least 15 choices including oreo and cheesecake, then the food which is great too. Shrimp and chips are a favourite and there are lots of them. Did I mention the service - very gracious and pleasant.
Consistently great food! So yum. It is reflected in the prices however. We paid $28.00 for a bacon cheese mushroom burger, large yam fries, and a large chocolate shake. Very friendly staff. Funky interior with an extra funky patio. Definitely stop in on your way by. You won't regret, your wallet will just be a little lighter, and your waistline a little heavier.
Most excellent burger and fries, friendly service and atmosphere. My wife and I were extremely please with the ambiance, reminded us of our younger days. Well done.
Stumbled upon this gem of an eatery on our way through Lake Cowichan. Food was good (heard the pizza and burgers are best) but what stood out most was the friendly staff and retro/diner inspired vibe. They even have an old rail car to eat in! We also noticed how cared for and clean the restaurant was. Will definitely make this our go-to spot on all trips through Lake Cowichan.
